This section is a series of hand technique exercises. Each exercise combines two or more rudiments played back to back to enable you to transition seamlessly between the chosen rudiments and to build stamina/endurance. These exercises can of course also be applied to the full drum set!

  • Flam Accents into Hertas Exercise

    This exercise comprises one bar of flam accents followed by one bar of hertas, first leading with the right hand then with the left. Application of Moeller technique is explained to help you understand the motions and mechanics involved in playing the exercise accurately.

  • Double Flammed Triplet Exercise

    This is a great exercise to try once you have become fairly comfortable with the flam accent rudiment. The double flam is not only a fantastic technique builder, but also gives you some further phrasing possibilities to bring into your general vocabulary.
